Uruguay and Kuwait held the First Round of Political Consultations
On 27 January 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait held, in a virtual format, the First Round of Political Consultations, with the participation of the Embassy of Uruguay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the state of the bilateral relationship, discussed the organization of high-level visits, and addressed the implementation of a regular consultation mechanism, including in-person meetings.
The agenda also included the assessment of ongoing or prospective cooperation instruments and the strengthening of cooperation in agriculture and food security. Economic priorities were also discussed, including trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
In another area, it was agreed to exchange information on candidatures in multilateral frameworks, as well as to present national positions on regional and international issues.
Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and maintaining a regular political dialogue between the friendly countries.
