The Executive Branch declared an official day of mourning for Thursday the 27th following the death of Uruguayan musician Ruben Rada.
The decree signed by the President of the Republic, Yamandú Orsi, establishes an official day of mourning for Thursday, 27 August, following the death of Uruguayan musician and composer Ruben Rada. The wake will be held in the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos at the Legislative Palace, starting at 2:00 p.m.
According to Article 2 of the decree, the national flag must be flown at half-mast throughout the day at all public buildings, Uruguayan embassies abroad, barracks, fortresses, air bases, and warships.
The decree also provides that funeral honors be rendered to Ruben Rada, whose wake will be held this Thursday in the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos at the Legislative Palace, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The official mourning period was declared by the Executive Branch in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 14,458.
